My Foie Gras Life does not revolve around the fattened liver of a duck. Gras is fat in French, liver is foie. This is my journey with a fatty liver.

For the first 40 years of “adulting”, my social life revolved around eating food and drinking wine.

Until October 2019 when my doctors told me that I have a serious medical condition, level 3 liver fibrosis.  Essentially this is scarring of the liver, one level below cirrhosis.  Cirrhosis leads to liver failure and liver failure leads to . . . never mind I don’t plan to go there.

So here I am finishing my 60th year and in order to live a healthy life, I am leaving my old ways behind.  No wine, no sweets and no foie gras.

Lifelong habits have to be broken. I have a lot to learn, plenty to share and many things to figure out.

That is what my blog is about: my two journeys, the journey here and the one ahead.
